Coaching it

How to get more from these practices.

What the shape gives you

Two clear banks of four are easy to understand and keep the team compact, and the two strikers give each other support and a partner to link with.

What to coach

Wide midfielders supporting the strikers and getting back, the partnership between the two strikers, and how the central midfielders cover the space between the lines.

Out of possession

Two banks of four stay close together. Coach the strikers to decide together whether to press or to hold and block the middle.
