How it's set up

This rondo based practice takes place in a 25 by 40-yard area and focuses on developing penetrating possession to finish. We setup by splitting the area into three zones, two outside 10-yard zones for the 2 floaters (Gold 9 & 4) and a 20-yard central zone where the 4 v 4 ( Blue v Red team) takes place. The objective is for the possession team to utilise the 4 v 4 + 2 advantage, play a breakout pass to the floater who bounces it to another possession player who runs into the outside zone to finish. If the defenders win possession, they can breakout, combine and score in any goal. Switch floaters after a set period of time, allowing each player a turn in the role.
