This Minions Football practice takes place in small 15 by 15-yard area and focuses on developing dribbling skills and basic shooting ability.

One player is chosen to be the “Minion” who begins with a ball while the rest of the players run freely.
The objective is for the Minion to dribble around the playing area and to tag the other players by hitting them with an accurate shot.
If a player is tagged, they also become a Minion and receive a ball from the coach. Once all players have been tagged, we re-start the practice.
Key Coaching Points
Focus on accuracy over power when tagging (Encourage low shots to avoid injury).
Get up close to the target before shooting to increase the chances of a successful hit.
Progressions
Once the Minion has tagged a player, the player must run to the coach and perform a skill exercise as ‘punishment’ before re-joining the game as a Minion
