How it's set up

This practice takes place in a 20 by 35-yard area and focuses on developing build up play, movement and forward passing. We setup by splitting the area into three zones, two 15-yard zones and a central 5 yard zone. We have a GK and two defenders starting on the sides in both areas, with two midfielders in the central zone and two pressing defenders in each area. The objective is for the possession team to connect with the central midfielders and transfer possession to the other area. If the defenders win possession, they can combine or finish past the GK. After a goal or a the ball is out of play, the coach restarts play with either of the GK’s.
