How it's set up

This practice focuses on improving defensive compactness and preventing penetrating passes. Set up a 15 by 20-yard area with neutral floaters positioned at either end. The 4 v 4 + floaters game begins with the attacking team attempting to break through the defensive unit and reach the opposite floater. If successful, the possession team earns a goal and possession switches, with the new attacking team working in the opposite direction. If defenders regain possession, they earn a goal and transition into the attacking role. The emphasis is on maintaining a tight defensive shape, forcing play wide, and shifting as a unit to close gaps.
