How it's set up

This practice takes place in a 20 by 35-yard area and focuses on developing defenders ability to press as a unit, regain and transfer possession. We setup by creating two 15 by 15-yard rondo zones, with a 5-yard zone between them. To begin, we have a 5 v 3 rondo in one zone, with two players on the defending team waiting in the other zone. The objective for the defenders is to press to win possession, before transferring the ball to teammates in the other rondo zone. The three defenders will join their teammates in the other zone, now becoming the possession team, while three players from the other team sprint across now looking to win possession. If the possession team make 10 successful passes, they are awarded with a goal.
