How it's set up

This foundation phase practice takes place in a 20 yard circular playing area and focuses on developing players technical ability while running with the ball. Each player starts with a ball and is positioned on one of the stations in the playing area. We begin with the coach announcing which skill players must perform while moving between the cones. Players perform the skill until the coach calls for a change. Skills such as left and right foot dribbling, dribbling backwards, toe-taps and side-to-side instep controls all contribute to improving players technical ability with the ball.
