How it's set up

This practice takes place in a 16 by 32-yard area and is a rondo that emphasises technical passing skills and decision-making to play around or through a 2-player press. The setup involves two teams, each operating in separate boxes (half the playing area). To begin, we have a 6 v 2 rondo, with two defenders (Red 8 & 9) pressing to regain possession. The attacking team aims to complete 10 consecutive passes to earn a point. If defenders win possession, they must quickly transfer the ball to their box while the attackers attempt to counter-press and disrupt the transition. This creates a 6 v 2 rondo in the other box with the initial pressing teams’ players now the possession team, against two Blue defenders.
