How it's set up

This practice is designed to develop player awareness and scanning in a fun, game-like setting. Set within a 6 by 8-yard area (or larger for more success), players are split into three teams of three, each distinguished by different coloured hats or headbands to encourage visual scanning. One team begins as defenders while the other two attack, aiming to keep possession and switch play between the top and bottom players. The green team acts as the overload, with fixed players on the top and bottom lines to create space and promote wide options. Play is continuous and highly engaging.
