How it's set up

This practice takes place in a 20 by 20-yard area and focuses on developing players ability to hold possession and beat players in 1 v 1 scenarios. We setup by creating two 8 by 8-yard zones, with one player starting in possession (Gold 9), one player defending in the same zone (Blue 6) and another player waiting on the sides of the other zone (Red 8). The objective is for the player in possession to keep possession in the square for 5 seconds and then to beat the defender and dribble the ball into the opposite zone. Once they enter the next zone, the next defender (Red) becomes active. If the defender wins possession, they must drive into the opposite zone, now becoming the possession player.
